GOP hopefuls face voter questions tonight

November 28th, 2007, 3:37 pm · 9 Comments · posted by Dena Bunis, Washington Bureau Chief

Tired of listening to the pundits and journalists ask questions of presidential hopefuls? Here’s your chance tonight to see the GOP candidates answer questions sent in by voters from around the country.

Now granted, those running the CNN-You Tube debate picked which questions made the cut from the more than 1,000 video suggestions submitted.

But if the July 23rd Democratic debate with the same format is any judge, tonight should be fun.

The program airs from 5 to 6 p.m. on CNN. I’ll be putting in my own two cents durng and after the debate.

We want to know what you think. So answer the poll below.

Mitt Romney just won’t answer the question asked. He gave answers, but NOT to the question asked. Rudy, well he just disgusts me on EVERY subject, I will move to Canada if he becomes president. Fred takes so long to begin to answer that he goes over the time limit and still is stammering and can’t quite spit it out. John McCain had many good things to say, but still gets too emotional to be taken seriously. Ron Paul should be questioned more, but is constantly overlooked on most of the debate and by most mainstream media. I already know that I will vote democrat before voting for Rudy or Mitt, so WHY aren’t the other candidates focused on more? I want to know what the other candidates believe; it seems nearly EVERY question goes to Rudy or Mitt first. I want to be informed of the other options to Rudy BESIDES Hillbilly Clinton?

Seriously…. who are all of these crazy Ron Paul supporters who skew every online poll????

  • Andrew G says:

CNN, FOX, and the majority of main stream media news, are biased towards Ron Paul. Again Mitt Romney & Rudy Giuliani were given the most air time and Ron Paul was only given a small fraction.
The same favoritism was used during the last (ABC News) Debate Mitt Romney & Rudy Giuliani were allowed the most words spoken. There were a total of 14,694 words spoken at the debate and 11,928 of those were by one of the candidates. Out of those 11,928 words Romney spoke 2502 words, Giuliani spoke 1995 words, and Paul was given the least time to speak with only 705 words. With only a fraction of the total air time Ron Paul consistently wins in every debate poll and the majority of straw polls.

geoff a very small percentage of the population is highly
intelligent I’m very certain you dont fall into that category-
ron paul- to that small minority- stands out head and shoulders over every other candidate– does that answer your question????/

  • chris says:

Crazy? We (Ron Paul supporters) are the only people that realize how important this election is to bringing back a true constitutional government. Our government has been hijacked by both parties. If you follow politics at all-and check out almost every bill thats proposed, and are trying to pass-you would see that congress is taking away our fundamental rights to speech, bear arms, to have closed borders, etc. Check out senate bill 1959-under that bill if I try to start a movement that disagrees with a government position-lets say they try manditory ID chips in your hand- they could arrest me as a terrorist-and put me away(in jail) forever-no right to a speedy trial. This is where the Ron Paul supporters are coming from-we are sick and tired of congress passing laws that protect the government and congressmen-it has to stop now!!

  • Andy Favor says:

Geoff, If you really want to know, a Ron Paul supporter is someone who is typically well educated and watches things like politicical debates rather than shows like Dancing With the Stars. They know what the issues are and are concerned about the direction the country is going.
